I adore quick and easy recipes, where you do not sweat yourself for hours in the kitchen and ingredients are easy to find in your pantry. This is one of those!
These power balls are amazing for a snack option and are great on-the-go snack. Being naturally sweetened by dates doesn’t impose the guilt that often involves with sugar-laden snacks and bars.
I have made this for numerous hiking, trail-walking and road-trips. They are easy to whip-up (just 5-ingredients!), packs well and keeps well too! Score!
They are –
Wholesome
Peanut Butter-y
Little crunchy

Dairy-free
Sugar-free
What more could you ask for? I hope you make these, they are not only addictive but also super fun to make!
- 1 cup dates, pitted
- ¼ cup dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- ⅔ cup rolled oats
- Soak dates in warm water for 10 minutes. Pat dry. If they are already soft then skip this step.
- Pulse the dates in a food processor until broken into small pieces.
- Add dark chocolate, peanut butter, chia seeds and oats and pulse a few times or until the whole mixture is combined but do not overly process it.
- Roll into 1-inch balls using both your hands to mold it together.
- They are good to go at room temperature or if you would want, put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
If you soak the dates, do pat them dry well before pulsing.
Store in an airtight container or zip-lock bag, keeps well for 7-10 days.
